FABs: a key component of the SES policy
According to the Regulation (EC) No. 549/2004, a Functional Airspace Block is "an airspace block based on operational requirements (such as safety, capacity, cost), reflecting the need to ensure more integrated management of the airspace regardless of existing national boundaries“.

First Airspace Strategy for Poland Published
Madrid, 13 November 2018 - PANSA (the Polish Air Navigation Service Provider) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced the publication of the first edition of an Airspace Strategy for Poland (ASP).

Digital Backbone to strengthen SES
On the 1st of October the A6 Alliance, that PANSA is a member of, has published the information about their initiative on data-sharing technology as the digitalization environment in the ATM in Europe – the SES Digital Backbone project. It will be designed in cooperation with EUROCONTROL. SES Digital Backbone is a big step towards creation of the one common platform for the European air traffic management, that will provide the common access to the ATM data and applications in Europe.

CANSO and EUROCONTROL agree joint action to tackle airspace capacity in Europe
At a high-level CEO meeting that was held on 25 September 2018 in Brussels, senior representatives of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) in Europe and the Director General of EUROCONTROL discussed how the two organisations can work more closely to address the pressing issues of airspace capacity across Europe. Polish Air Navigation Services Agency was represented by President Janusz Janiszewski and Maciej Rodak.
